Grants can't do it all. City funds can't do it all.
Together we CAN do it all.

We all share stewardship of Portland’s urban green space, and have a mutual interest in maintaining the park’s integrity for future generations. Our mission is advanced through the dedicated efforts of an all-volunteer board, assisted by two part-time staff members, as well as community involvement. The organization relies on the people who value and enjoy this extraordinary place to meet its most pressing needs.

We invite you to get involved. Scroll down or click on the categories at the right for more information on ways you (as a Supporter or Volunteer) or your company (as a Partner) can participate.

Name a Bench      Recognize a Loved One          Honor a Friend

Help Friends of the Eastern Promenade restore the past. Your participation in this bench recognition program demonstrates your commitment to this exceptional landscape and to those who have served.

Seven World's Fair benches are available for recognition as part of an integral part of our campaign to provide a more dignified setting for this significant memorial.

These benches are timeless and there are several bench locations still available for commemoration. Bronze plaques allow for three lines of text with 21 characters per line. The benches are made from cast iron and environmentally harvested brazilian walnut Ipe hardwood (pronounced ee-pay) that naturally resists rot, decay, insects, and mold.

This wood is an environmentally responsible choice that naturally resists rot, decay, insects, and mold without the use of toxic chemicals.

Commemorative benches intended for placement at the Jacob Cousins Memorial are $5,000, and 100% of your contribution is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Our bench recognition program directly supports the Jacob Cousins Memorial Renovation Project.

Become A Business Partner

For more than a decade, Friends of the Eastern Promenade has encouraged citizen engagement and support through advocacy, education, and community outreach. We've spearheaded successful fundraising campaigns to support our mission of preserving, protecting, and enhancing the Eastern Promenade Park.

Stewardship of this unique urban green space is our principal responsibility. In partnership with the City, we are dedicated to ensuring the park thrives as a treasured resource for the people of Portland, the state of Maine, and all who visit.

Carrying out our mission is a group effort, and we'd be honored to have you as a partner in the group. Becoming a Partner with FoEP is a mutually beneficial relationship. The partner options vary in sponsorship levels and can include single or multi-program support annually.

We would be happy to share more about these and other opportunities, by sending you the Business Partner Benefits packet. While the roots of a tree are important for growth, every leaf counts!
