Grants can't do it all. City funds can't do it all. Together we CAN do it all.

We all share stewardship of Portland’s urban green space, and have a mutual interest in maintaining the park’s integrity for future generations. Our mission is advanced through the dedicated efforts of an all-volunteer board, assisted by two part-time staff members, as well as community involvement. The organization relies on the people who value and enjoy this extraordinary place to meet its most pressing needs.

Become A Business Partner

For more than a decade, Friends of the Eastern Promenade has encouraged citizen engagement and support through advocacy, education, and community outreach. We've spearheaded successful fundraising campaigns to support our mission of preserving, protecting, and enhancing the Eastern Promenade Park.

Stewardship of this unique urban green space is our principal responsibility. In partnership with the City, we are dedicated to ensuring the park thrives as a treasured resource for the people of Portland, the state of Maine, and all who visit.

Carrying out our mission is a group effort, and we'd be honored to have you as a partner in the group. Becoming a Partner with FoEP is a mutually beneficial relationship. The partner options vary in sponsorship levels and can include single or multi-program support annually.

We would be happy to share more about these and other opportunities by sending you the Business Partner Benefits packet. While the roots of a tree are important for growth, every leaf counts!

Name a Bench in the Cousins Memorial Plaza

Your participation in our bench recognition program will support our effort to restore the Cousins Memorial and honor those who served our nation. Naming a bench also demonstrates your commitment to the exceptional landscape of the Eastern Promenade.

Six World's Fair benches are still available for recognition allowing reflection and inspiration for all who visit this significant memorial. Sit, relax and enjoy spectacular views to the northeast from the semi-circular plaza to be created at this popular park entrance. The renovation provides a more dignified setting befitting recognition of Maine's first Jewish soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice during World War I.

These timeless, commemorative benches intended for placement at the Jacob Cousins Memorial are $5,000 and directly support completion of this historic undertaking.  100% of your contribution is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
