2019 Summer Community Concert Series

Friends of the Eastern Promenade takes great pleasure in hosting and coordinating this annual family-oriented series of concerts in partnership with the City of Portland. Thanks to all our generous sponsors for their support of this beloved tradition. CONCERTS ARE FREE, but we welcome donations to support our stewardship of the Eastern Promenade.

7.25               Chandler's Military Band & Orchestra — Organized in 1876 and believed to be the nation's second oldest professional band in continuous service.


8.1                  King Memphis — Rockabilly. A 1950s mashup of hillbilly country twang and hopped-up soulful blues.

What To Expect

People of all ages attend our concerts with lawn chairs, blankets, hula-hoops and smiles; food trucks provide an assortment of delicious local cuisine; a variety of musical genres from Maine and beyond provide sounds for everyone to enjoy while watching the sun set and the moon rise over the bay. 

Average attendance at our concerts is between 600 and 800 cheerful listeners from the surrounding community and beyond.
