Over the winter, city crews thinned dense brush along some of the steep slopes of the Eastern Prom and in other areas of the park. According to City Arborist Jeff Tarling, the project's goal was to thin overgrowth obstructing views and remove invasives (bittersweet, etc.) that are choking out native species. In the spring, soil will be brought in and low-growing shrubs will be planted to prevent erosion on the cliff slopes.
