Competitors fight fog in first Row Down

Portland Community Rowing Association held its first-ever Row Down on Saturday, Sept. 24. In thick fog, 24 competitors launched near the East End Beach and raced a 4.5-kilometer loop in Back Cove. Portland Community Rowing provides rowing classes for youths and adults - from beginners to competitive rowers - at the East End Beach. Rowing is a great way to develop balance, timing, endurance and teamwork. For more information, visit rowportland.org.
