FoEP hosts MS Shoreside Festival Aug. 20 & 21

The first annual MS Shoreside Festival on Portland’s Eastern Promenade offers the perfect vantage point for watching the MS Regatta and Harborfest races taking place on Casco Bay. On Saturday, watch the graceful sailboats parade out of the harbor before racing in the MS Regatta while live music plays in the Fort Allen Park bandstand. On Sunday, cheer on the lobster boats and tugs as the thrilling race action is broadcast live to the crowd. The festival, hosted by Friends of the Eastern Promenade, features great food, music, artists and fun activities for the kids – including knot tying, rope throwing, touch tank, scavenger hunt and rowing with the Compass Project. Proceeds from MS Harborfest events benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
