Fort Allen bandstand spruced up for holidays

The bandstand at Fort Allen Park has been spruced up with festive garlands and white lights to celebrate the season, thanks to Friends of the Eastern Promenade.

Volunteers from the nonprofit organization decorated the building with 170 feet of pine garlands, 700 lights and a holiday wreath. The lights are on loan from the city of Portland.

The bandstand, built in 1891, will stay illuminated from dusk to dawn throughout the holiday season.
